1 1/2 cups water 1 cup granulated sugar 1 navel orange, zest removed with a vegetable peeler and cut into 1/2 - inch long strips 6 tablespoons superfine sugar In a very small saucepan over moderate heat bring water with granulated sugar to a boil. Add citrus zest and simmer, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes. Drain zest in a fine sieve a small bowl toss to coat with superfine sugar.
