AUSTRALIAN BALMAIN BUG SALAD
These "bugs" look and taste very much like lobster and are an Aussie favorite . The seas around Australia are just teeming with seafood that is not available to the American table..
This salad is a specialty of Sydney. Contrary to what they might look like, balmain bugs are not insects. Balmain bugs are a type of slipper lobster, not a true lobster, but they have a taste and texture similar to the real one.
