JEWISH COFFEE CAKE



A must in every Jewish household.

JEWISH COFFEE CAKE

INGREDIENTS:COFFEE CAKE Makes 2 loaves 

●  ½  lb. margarine
●  2 Cup(s) sugar
●  4 whole eggs
●  2 Teaspoon(s) vanilla
●  4 Cup(s) sifted flour
●  3 Teaspoon(s) baking powder
●  ½ Teaspoon(s) Kosher salt
●  1 pint sour cream
●  1Teaspoon(s) baking soda

DIRECTIONS: COFFEE CAKE 

1.  Mix margarine and sugar. Add eggs; mix well.  

2.  Add vanilla. 

3.  Then add sifted flour along with baking powder and salt. Mix well. 

4.  Add sour cream and soda;  mix well.

INGREDIENTS: FILLING SERVES 6

1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. cinnamon

DIRECTIONS: FILLING 

✚ Pre-heat oven to 325℉

1.   Mix sugar, cinnamon and nuts together.

2.  Bake in greased and floured pan. 

3.  Put ½ batter in then ½ filling on top of batter;  then put rest of batter in pan.

4.  Sprinkle remaining filling on top of cake. 

5.  Bake at 325℉ for 60 minutes or until done.
