Best Pie Crust Food Processor Method The best tasting pie crust in the world. 9 inch pie Pie Crust Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour I teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon sugar 8 tablespoons salted butter (ice cold) cut into 1/2 inch pieces 6 tablespoons Crisco, butter flavored shortening (ice cold) 8 to10 tablespoons ice water Mix in processor bowl: 2 cups all-purpose flour I teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon sugar Then mix in: 8 tablespoons butter 6 tablespoons Crisco, butter flavored shortening 8 to 10 tablespoons ice water Mix only long enough for dough to form into a ball, about 20 -30 seconds on pulse.
The less the mixing, the flakier and tenderer the crust.
Chill the Pie Crust Dough: Cut your dough in half and wrap in plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for 20 or more
minutes, while you make the pie filling. Take one dough ball at a time from the refrigerator
while assembling the pie. ALWAYS KEEP THE PIE CRUST DOUGH COLD.
